Product Reviews: Palty Hair Dye and Manic Panic N.Y.C. Flash Lightning 30

Hello!
Thought I should start this blog off with a start with....
- drum rolls -

Two reviews!
I'll be reviewing the two following products:

  • Tish & Snooky's MANIC PANIC N.Y.C. Flash Lightning 30 Volume Cream Developer
  • Dariya Palty Hair Dye in Caramel Brown

So...
Let us get started! (◦ ᴈ◦)ᴝ ~~ ♥!!

MANIC PANIC Review
Bunneh's Rating: ♥♥

Pros:
It... "works?"
When the product was on my head, did not burn

Cons:
Smell was absolutely terrible (I swear I thought I lost some brain cells..)
There was not that much of the product
(and I have shortish medium length hair)
Hair did not lighten equally along with other parts
After washing hair was not silky and fell flat
Did not lighten fast enough

Before - Natural Light

- Side

Before - Light from my room

-Side

After (Wet hair)
- Top/Front

- Side

Inside the box, you get......
1 mixing tub
1 package of the actual bleach powder
1 brush (it was okay)
1 bottle of the developer
1 shower cap
pair of gloves
instructions

Here's how I used it! ♥

I did a skin test with it prior to using it just in case.
Seemed alright, so I went ahead a day later :3

I opened the mixing tub to find the small package of the actual bleach powder.
Once I got that opened, I slowly dumped it all into the mixing tub.
(Warning: Do NOT breathe while you put the powder in the tub and even while mixing)

After, I put in the developer.
In the instructions, it said you might not have to use all of it, but I felt that there wasn't enough....
So I dumped it all in there :)

Mix, mix, mix, mix  ♥

Put on those gloves!
Felt like a medical doctor for surgery or something when I put those on Q.Q laaaaawl

I used a combination of spreading the bleach with the brush and using my hands.
Brush to spread it on evenly, hands to spread it out all through my hair.
Put on the shower cap once you're done.

Pink'd out everything, room is a meeess ;)

It took me about 5-10 minutes personally to put it all through my hair.

The instructions read to have it in your hair for 60-90 minutes.
I checked my hair at 50 minutes and freaked out.
The bleach varied in tone EVERYWHERE =__=
At 60 minutes, I rinsed it all out.

My hair after rinsing and drying, was this awkward rough texture.
My hair is typically silky and.... soft.
But it made my hair feel like everything was striped off of it.
I know yes, that is what bleach does.
But it felt like it killed my hair more than other bleaches I have used......
My boyfriend literally was like "Nooo you have American hair now"
Which is aka Barbie hair xD
It was so flat.
I am very glad I have strong hair that can handle strong dyes.
My bangs in the front were this awful texture, I honestly have no words for how it felt.
I do not believe this is a good product if you have weak hair.

Overall, I think the product was okay.
I'd recommend it mostly for just highlighting or if you want to lighten certain parts only.
Certainly do not recommend it for the entire head.
It's an okay bleach over all, and I do recommend it to those who want to highlight.
I do wish to say this though.
I absolutely LOVE the effect I got after I dyed it with Palty, it gave me many variations of color.
So if you wish to have variations of hair, I'd most likely recommend you to use this product to highlight various parts of your hair and then dye over it.
You'll see many colors then :)

Palty Hair Dye Review
Bunneh's Rating: ♥♥♥

Pros:
The color was very lovely :)
Over time it changes in colors and variations
Looks great in general ^-^
The conditioner that comes was pretty nice, wish they gave more though =_=
The nozzle that comes with the dye to spread on the dye is fairly nice

Cons:
Barely enough to cover your entire head
(I'd recommend people with long hair to buy 2 boxes at least.... you'll definitely need 2)
You have to have the dye in your hair for a long time if you want to see color changes

Before - (Wet hair)

- Top/Front

- Side

After (This was actually a few days after dyeing)

Inside the box you get.......
1 bottle of the developer (?)
1 tube with the actual color part of the dye
1 lid/top/whatever you want to call it that spreads the dye into your hair
1 packet of conditioner
pair of gloves
Instructions

Here's how I used it! ♥

I skipped the skin test for this one since I have previous used Palty before in the past.
However, I recommend all new users to Palty to do a skin test prior to dyeing.
Warning: Palty has bleach in the dye itself, which is why it is permanent.
If you're looking for a semi-permanent dye, Palty is not for you.

I started 2-4 hours after bleaching my hair with Palty ^-^
All the instructions are in Japanese, but it's quite simple without them.
Pretty much, put the tube of the dye (labeled 1) into the bottle (labeled 2)
Shake it up real well! ^-^
I normally shake for a few minutes.
After a good amount of shaking, just let it sit for a little bit until the color changes.
It'll be this weird greyish like tone?
It's an off tone anyways :)

Take off the cap and replace with the other end that you use to spread with your hair.
Now all you have to do is section off hair, and squeeze the bottle and it spreads evenly!
I personally though still love to use a combination of hands too so yah.
Your choice however of how you do it.
I've previously done different methods (hands, brush, etc)

It took me about 15 minutes to spread it through my entire head.
You're supposed to have it in your hair for only 20 minutes or so.
I do not recommend only using it for 20 minutes.
20 minutes is very minimal or very little color.
I'd recommend anywhere from 30-60 minutes at the least.
I personally kept it in my hair for a good 90 minutes.
I had been planning on 70 but.... I was on skype with my boyfriend ;)

After the time was over for me, I just simply rinsed it all out of my hair.
I used the small packet of the conditioner then just used my normal hair conditioner to really set it in.
Believe me, the small packet is amazing with making your hair soft again.
Smells nice too, just...
Really little of it T__T

What I absolutely love and rave about this product is how this dye actually WORKS.
I have Asian hair, thus, my hair does not typically work on American hair dyes.
Palty actually dyes my hair which I just love about it :)
The color changes through time I should mention.
My hair is currently darkening to a brown instead of the blonde I was from the first week.
It's very nice ^-^
Plus, Palty tends to with my hair at least, have some highlights in it.
So it isn't just a solid color, at least when I do it, bleach or no bleach.

I however do not like how there is so very little of the product.
I used up the entire bottle and wish I had more.
Even for my medium length hair at the time, it was just enough to cover my head.
Anybody with medium-long or longer hair should definitely buy at least 2 boxes.

The price is pretty high for the amount they give if you buy online.
Additionally, your hair will most likely not turn out the same color as the model on the box.
The only way to achieve that color would be to bleach then dye.
If you have dark hair and you use this, it'll most likely just give you a dark brown effect.

But I trust this product over any American dye for my hair.
I definitely recommend this product.
I trust it and I know it will change my color, correct like the box or not.
^-^ Yup!

Overall, great product.
Expensive if you're on a low budget but if you can afford it, do buy it.
It's definitely worth it.
You could even just dye ever other month, and the color would still look gorgeous.

Hope you enjoyed these two reviews,
and I hope they helped you ^ 3^

Hugs and smiles,
- Bunneh ♥
